Academy Awards.

The live action short film Break, in which I played a leading role in May of 2021, was screened both nationally and internationally at fourteen film festivals in 2022 and 2023--two of which are accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). Per the rules of the AMPAS, “Should a film win a designated prize at one of these accredited fests, the film would become eligible to be nominated for an Oscar.” Both the Austin International and St. Louis International Festivals (both Academy-accredited festivals) awarded this distinction to Break, giving it the distinction of “Oscar Qualifier” and placing it into the pool of films considered for the Live Action Short Film Oscar in 2024.
